Recent Rating Review
Tradeking recieved a 4 out of 5 star rating in Barron's 2010 Online Broker survey for the fourth consecutive year.

Pricing
Tradeking is a low commission stock broker with $4.95 trades online or broker assisted. Options are $.65 per contract. They have no account minimums and no hidden fees. If you are asking, "Can I buy penny stocks on Tradeking" the answer is yes however they add $0.01 per share on the whole order for stocks priced less than $1.00. Zecco has low brokerage commissions on penny stocks.

Customer Service
Tradeking received the highest customer service ratings possible in Smart Money's and Kiplinger's 2008 broker survey reviews. They were also ranked as the number one discount stock broker by Smart Money in 2006 and 2007.

Order Execution
I have made dozens of market and limit order stock trades with them. Market orders have always executed very fast for me in or under approximately one or two seconds. They are usually so fast I'll click submit and in the second or two it takes me to move the mouse over to order status it is already filled by the time I click on order status. Limit orders are sometimes just as fast but can occasionally take up to five or ten seconds also depending on how frequently the stock is trading. With highly active stocks limit orders have been similar to market orders with about a second or two lag.

Safety and Security
Each client is protected up to $25 million and $1 million for cash balances. Tradeking is a Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC) member. SIPC protects accounts up to $500,000 and $100,000 for claims of cash. Through their clearing firm they have an extra $24.5 million of coverage per client (including $900,000 for claims of cash).

I have used Tradeking as an online broker since 2007 and have been very happy with them. I also receive sales commission from my ad links.

One limitation of Tradeking is that they do charge an extra fee for low-priced stocks (can't remember the cutoff). It can get pretty pricey. So if you're trading pennies Tradeking isn't a good option.

Right. Stocks under $1 are $.01 per share on entire order.

I have liked Zecco for penny stocks.
