in that post with the shooting star that shooting star was helpful in helping me see the drop coming. It dropped off the uptrend line the very next day. The momo died.

Sometimes candles will give a read perfectly and if you use them with other signals they can be powerful in certain stocks. Other times especially in illiquid (thinly traded equites) they can be wrong 90% of the time. Some vehicles work better with candles than others.

right. no star though. the doji was on Friday the 2nd. Doji's are a signal of indecision in the marketplace. A doji at the end of a down-trend like in this case often signals a change in trend coming as it did here.

It was a doji but a perfect doji would be where the open was "exactly" the same as the closing price. sellers would have slapped it down and buyers would have pushed it up but the close and open would still be identical. total indecision that can be clue for change in trend. MPG actually closed up slightly on the day. This candle today is a very bullish long body candle/wide ranging day. I'm going to add MPG to my watch list. thanks.

I don't know morning stars. It might be what i call a hammer which is an upright hammer with close slightly positive. A bearish shooting star is the last candle in the last chart on this page.
