About Me

Hi! I'm Mark and I have been investing in stocks since 2001 and mutual funds since the mid 1990's. I've been blogging about stocks and the stock market since 2006. Because of its excellence, my work has appeared on Dow Jones Marketwatch, TheStreet.com, SeekingAlpha.com, CapitalIdeasOnline.com, ValueInvesting News.com and CollegeAnalysts.com.

I hold a B.A. in History from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. During my studies there I wrote a paper on the 1907 U.S. banking panic and I wrote my senior paper on the 2001 economic crisis in Argentina.

I've also worked for a top 10 U.S. financial company. I am a member of the American Association of Individual Investors.

I am a contrarian value investor with an emphasis on fundamentals. I also use technical analysis. I don't shy away from small and micro-cap stocks aka penny stocks because often Benjamin Graham cigar-butts aka Net-Net's which are typically small companies present some of the greatest values.

Stock Pursuit is read by many professionals in the money management industry. This blog is very unique not only because it is a blog on deep asset value stocks but because I cover many other things including commodities and futures, momentum trading, technical analysis and stock market commentary.

In the upper right corner of the site there is a search box where you can type in ticker symbols and words. Just hit enter to search.

Welcome to Stock Pursuit.

Mark knows his stuff!! -Jerry
